Move-in photo checklist for landlords
Use this checklist to capture rental condition photos before or during move-in. Pair it with check4u when you want a shared PDF both sides can keep.
Why move-in photos matter
Clear photos at move-in help landlords and tenants agree on the starting condition of each room. A simple photo record reduces confusion later and keeps both sides aligned.
What to capture room by room
For each room, take wide shots of walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and fixed fittings. Add close-ups of marks, scratches, or wear you want noted in the record.
Quick room checklist
- Kitchen: benches, sink, cupboards, stove, floors, and splashbacks
- Bathroom: tiles, shower or bath, vanity, toilet, and ventilation
- Bedrooms and living areas: walls, floors, doors, windows, and wardrobes
- Keys, meters, appliances, and outdoor areas if they are part of the tenancy
What not to photograph
Avoid personal items that identify tenants or neighbours. Focus on the property condition, not people or private documents.
